Cambridgeshire Local News: New Pembury hospital issued warnings over patient care


Patents experienced significant delays and wards are severely understaffed at a recently opened hospital in Kent, one of the major UK watchdogs has revealed.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has issued two warning notices to the £230 million Tunbridge Wells Hospital in Pembury following an un-announced inspection.

Inspectors commented saying the hospital was in breach of two of the governments essential standards.

The hospital has since apologised and said improvements to the hospital have been made.

The report said: "Inspectors were concerned that the trust was not taking appropriate steps to make sure that people experienced safe and appropriate care that met their needs."
